we have three children of our own. The issue that I am wondering about is that we live in a three bedroom two bath house. We are planning on putting bunk beds in the bed rooms so that each child will have their own bed. We are trying to get a boy and a girl so in total we will have 5 kids in the home all under the age 6. I am an at home mom so I keep my house on a great schedule!
I was just wanting some Information from people who have fostered or adopted through their local DFACS. Will it be a huge issue for us to have 3 girls in one room and 2 boys in another?
We are about to have our home study but they said we need to have the beds set up… I do not want to spend $2000(+) if we will not be approved because of that.
We live in Georgia… anyone know anything about this????
Rosie… The two that we want are brother and sister and really just need a stable home. Hopefully we will get to adopt them soon.
We completed our IMPACT training Sunday.
You can get your bunk beds off of freecycle.org or craig’s list. I would NEVER buy new beds for children. You put the word out that you are fostering and people will give you beds.
You need to add just one child at first. Two new foster kids is an exponential increase, especially with all under the age of 6.
There has to be enough square footage in the bedroom, if you want to bunk in 3. However, I have seen foster homes after they are licensed set up cots and use non bedroom areas for sleeping due to overflow.
It’s not supposed to happen.
Some children absolutely require their own room. some do not.
What you need to do is attend orientation. Here is a nice link.

I bought a metallic bunk bed for my kids (this one http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/20050292 ). Anyway, it worked great for 6 months and now, whenever my kid on the top bunk moves, the bed screeches. I’ve sprayed junctions with WD40, but it did not help. Anyway have any suggestions?
stop - wd40 isn’t the trick
tear down the bed and insert plastic or rubber washer between any two metal surfaces, you will be able to tell which need it most, the paint will have rubbed off, maybe you kept the assemble instructions, these will help you, you can get the washers at the local hardware for about a nickle a piece, buy the box, you are gonna need probably 30 of them. put bed back together nice and tight, once a month run through the bed retightening the bolts, little fellas are good about loosening stuff without trying,
Ok. I’m 14 years old, 5′ 11", and 10 Stone. But I look to thin. I have no muscle. I would love to do something about this but to afraid to go to a Gym, so I want to do it in my home. I have 5lbs dumbbells and a bunk bed good for pull ups. I have no noticeable abs, feel or look. And my arms are limp. What can I do? I need a fitness plan! Please help.
dont be afraid to go to the gym man! im a bigger guy and i was 170lbs when i started and couldnt even bench press 135lbs. now im repping 315lbs. i dont know what that is in stone but its good gains. but as someone who works out alot, i have more respect for the little guy trying to really make improvements, than the football player whos always doing heavy bench presses. go to the gym bro, it will help you so much. u’ll thank me.
go to this site and look around and you’ll learn a bunch of exercises and how to do them with proper form. Ive tried all the best forms out there, and anatomically speaking, these are the best.
I need a cheap loft bed. Not a bunk bed. And not at ikea. I need somewhere that I’ve heard of. Not just an internet site. Please and thanks! ![]()
