My neice & nephew just gave my boys their bunk bed! :) Its about 6-10yrs old but looks brand new! (its been in storage most its life.)
It came from IKEA… it looks just like this one:

I dont have the manual & there are no guidelines on the bed. I just want an ESTIMATED top bunk weight limit. If you have had bunk beds before help me guess at it!

Thanks!

(the kids want story time on the top bunk… with ME and BOTH of them… that makes me terribly nervous!)

My kids have similar bunk beds, when they wake up I will read the weight limit on the top bed. I never ventured there myself LOL. I think it is about 150 lbs if I remember right, I weigh more than that and lay on them when they are separate but never tried it when we had them as bunks, I did not need the ego boost of breaking my kids beds LOL

Edit: I just went and read it, ours is rated for 165 pounds, it is also pine. Like I said it holds me on the floor because I lay with both of them I just never tried it when it was bunk beds, I dont think my husband even did that.

Edit: I just have to add that we have a dresser from IKEA and it has lasted very well, we got it for our oldest daughter when she was born and she is 9.5. It has a few dings in it because it is pine, but after 9.5 any dresser would have a ding or two. My nephews bed is from IKEA and has lasted him a long time as well, it was destroyed in a fire, but they had it at least 6+ years and he is all boy trust me. I think some of it depends on the kids and how they treat it. Yes IKEA's furniture is not made to last a lifetime but if treated right will last a childs life in the home. But you cannot beat the price and the look of their stuff. I have always been happy with all the items I bought from there. My girls beds are not from IKEA but are pine and we have had them for almost 5 years and they still look brand new.

Where to get a good bedroom set?

Be very careful with stuff from IKEA. We bought several beds and dressers from IKEA. The stuff doesn’t hold up. We don’t have the bunk beds but there is no way I would ever get on that with you and kids on the top bunk.

Our bed frames both were falling apart within 6 months of purchase. My 3 year olds bed the wood on the side split the other day for who knows what reason. Some of the furniture looks nice but I wouldn’t plan on having it hold up for the long haul.
