What bed should I get?

I’m getting a new bed this weekend, and I’ve seriously been considering a loft bed (like a bunk but nothing but space on the bottom half) from IKEA. My room is small, so it would be a great way to conserve space, but everyone seems to think it’s childish. Should I get it, or a traditional bed? Thanks :)

If you don’t mind literally climbing into bed, a loft bed is a great way to conserve space. Maybe you can find one that has a dresser or desk built in underneath.

Just make sure you know how tall your ceiling is so you don’t get one that’s too tall. They all look great at the store because they don’t have a ceiling right over them. It’s up to you though, if you want more space underneath. I went to a conference and stayed in a dorm with a loft bed. I couldn’t even sit up on the bed because there was literally 2 feet between the mattress and the ceiling.

Is a loft bed/high sleeper babyish for a 13 yr old girl?

There’s nothing wrong with a loft bed.Just get like…a very adult looking one.I’d go for wood in a dark finish. My friend got one just recently and it worked out pretty well.

I think getting a loft bed so you will have more space is a great idea. You should get what you want and not pay attention to those people who think it’s childish. After all, this is YOUR room, right? If you get a traditional bed because you feel pressured, you might regret it.

It depends on your age and whether you would be able to change it in the future. I wish you had a pic up here so I could see it. What will you do with all the space underneath? Will you have a bed for a bff to sleep over or a relative?
Do some researching on what to buy to place things in, the style and colors. Make it your own. You can choose several bins or plastic containers to stack and store your things. Look at what your interests are and let your imagination go! I always watched trading spaces and the themes and rooms were so beautiful and matched to that person’s likes.
Use space savers like for shoes that can go over the door or closet and the closet hangars that save space. What matters is what you like and what you can afford. Just keep in mind that you need a place for a friend to spend the night. Have fun!
I am almost 61 years old and my apartment is reflective of my tastes. Every room is things from the shore or nautical…..even the bathroom! I always wanted a bed that looks like a boat! I am lacking a fake palm tree too.
I have lighthouses above my cabinets. I used a calendar for all 12 pictures and bought 12 frames that are the same at the dollar store. I have made many things myself and with my imagination, created some nice pieces that are inexpensive. The bed you choose is not the end of the road. Decorating can be fun and inexpensive with some imagination! Go for it!
