My two boys have shared a room for years. Now, at ages 8 and 10 they are asking for their own rooms. My youngest will keep the bunk beds in his room, but we have to buy a new bed for my 10 year old. I go back and forth as to what size bed we should buy him. A twin size bed would definitely be cheaper, but I was thinking a full size bed he could have as he gets older and would come in handy if we have company. Can any of you help me out? Would a young boy really need a full size bed? We are not rich people so money is kind of an issue. But, buying a bed is an important purchase and I want to make a good decision. Thank you!
I think your reasons for the full size bed are good. It doesn't really matter what age I think. Plus a full size bed can be there for them when they get older and move out. Think about how nice it would be for them to get their own apartment and not have to sleep on a blow up mattress on the floor lol. But if money is really an issue go with what you can afford defiantly. Hope that helps!
I would go with the bigger bed so he can use it as he grows. It will save you money in a few years

A full size bed
It's ten right, but the time my brothers were 14, they were all 6 feet tall. By the time they were 18 they were between 6'3" to 6'6"
I know, they are taller than average
Your ten year old, could use the extra room in a few years
I would go with a full size
I got my daughter a full size bed, when she was four
I can lay down with her
It works out great
When her grandparents comes, I do not have to give up my bed
Full size bed worked out great for me

I always had a queen size bed growing up. Just in case company came. I hated it. Not the bed. But the fact that I was always kicked out for the company. A full size bed would be good. Just because they have more room. And you can buy kids sheets and blankets in full size. I never had those when I was a kid. I'm 35 and I got excited when I found Disney Princess sheets in queen size. I bought them too!
Just don't make it a habit of kicking him out of his room for company. My mom tried to make me get my son a queen size bed. Just in case I get company. My company is not kicking my son out of his room. They can sleep on the floor on an air mattress or at a hotel!

Twin, beds only last about 3 years. Next bed, go big.

Go with a full, if you can afford it. Then you are only buying once. Besides, the size of the bed to a ten year old would make him feel like a king.
